What is she up to these days? Is she just in London doing theatre I don't know about? I hope she's still performing. She's great. Listening to her On my Own right now.

Seems like she hasn't done any tv/film since 2001.

She recently finished a poorly received run as Roxie in London's Chicago and has just put out an album which I believe is called Smile.

thanks, popculture. Sounds like things are not going according to plan for her.

I saw her in Chicago and she was truly awful, which was a real shame.

That is a shame. I like her.

I had no opinion of her at all before I saw her as Roxie, as somehow it was my first time ever seeing or hearing her do anything. Don't quite know how I managed that. But anyway, after that I can't deal with her. Jason Robert Brown is holding a concert here this weekend, for three performances. He will be playing songs from The Last 5 Years, which I love, but Frances is going to be singing the female role and I just can't handle her voice.

I'm sure her voice will work much better with that music. She gained her fame as Eponine, remember.

Yes she did. But I couldn't tolerate her voice. So listening to her sing the audition song from Last 5 Years would not be something I care to do.

Okay. I loved her as Eponine.

The first time my daughter heard her sing "On My Own" on my CD, she said "It sounds like a dog whistle". (I just thought "Yikes") :)

I thought the same thing, justafan. I really cannot stand her. She whines too much for my taste.

I am a big fan; she did recently star as Roxie in the West End "Chicago" (did not know about her reviews).

She has a new full album ("Smile" was the single) called "Showgirl" which can be bought through her website. As a fan, I love her voice, and this album (she does a version of "Nowadays" on it). She sent an autographed picture along with it. I am hoping she will come over here and do a couple of concerts as she did with her last album.

I'm sorry, but her voice is just devastating. Oy.
