I would like to know to! If it's not that good I'm not going. It's one of those shows if it's performed bad it is bad. You know?

The press coverage for Papermill shows is usually from the opening night, which isn't until tomorrow (I think), so it should be up shortly.
Anyway, I saw the show today and it's pretty good. The cast is amazingly talented and it's fun to watch them having as much fun as they do onstage.
Sara Chase - who never ceases to surprise me - delivered a great "Bless the Lord, My Soul," and that's coming from someone whose most-played song on iTunes is Shoshana's version by quite a few plays. Special kudos have to go to Anika Larsen for managing to work in some of her crazy belt into "Day by Day." The audience was really loving Robin de Jesus' very high-energy "We Beseech Thee." Telly Leung was on as Jesus and did a great job, getting to show off his voice a little more than in his regular track (and watch out for him at the end of intermission with Josh ua Henry. The two of them get a little chance to show off how talented they really are.) Telly's understudy - Kasey Marino - had a really nice voice too; "All Good Gifts" was beautifully sung. Last but not least, two more audience favorites - Julie Reiber and Patrick Heusinger. In their little bits together and all their individual stuff, the audience loved them.
Overall, I say see it. I'll probably go back.
I could still do without all the book scenes - it's still Godspell, after all - but the cast manages to have a lot of fun with them and the singing is great.

Yeah, who needs them? It's just the Bible. It's not like it's the, you know, BASIS for the songs or anything. Or, you know, the whole point.
