I just bought tickets and saw that it is general admission in sections and was curious how this works in practice and what the process is when you show up for the show?

Also, how early should one get there?

When I went, my fiance and I (who bought tickets that day) arrived about 20 minutes before the doors opened and were a good 60 people back. We were sat at one of the "bar" type seating areas that run along the raised playing areas. But then, a few minutes before curtain, we were approached by the hostess and asked if we wanted to move to a table near the center "aisle" of the room.

So I have no idea how they decide this

The first time I went, my girlfriend and I got there an hour before show time and were seated at one of the tables on the main floor. Second time I went, we got there about 15 minutes before show time and was seated at what would be equivalent of our table the first time, just on the other side of the tent. I don’t know that there is any sort of rhyme or reason to the seating other than making sure they are able to seat everyone in one party together. I also don’t know what could be considered “priority” seats, either, because it seems to me that some guests might prefer one table and others would prefer a completely different one.

Enjoy the show!

It isn't true GA, but they take into consideration what you paid for your tickets. So there is full-priced GA, discounted GA, and rush GA. So, it's not like the earlier you queue up the better your seats, but the earlier you get there, the better you get versus the people who paid the same price as you.

I learned all this as I tried to join friends who had purchased tickets separately, and it was not as easy to guarantee that we could all sit together as I had expected.

Now t/d/b/a haterobics on here.

When I rushed it, I showed up about a half hour before showtime and was the first one to be seated, they put me in a booth in the corner right in front of Bolkonsky's chair. I had no complaints about the seat. I actually really liked being in the booth because the seat seemed to be a bit interactive...as in, it would vibrate and stuff which added to the experience. Regardless, enjoy the show! I loved it.
