"Gypsy" Playbill signed by Patti LuPone: question
#1"Gypsy" Playbill signed by Patti LuPone: question
Posted: 2/21/09 at 5:10pmHello. Is there a site somewhere that can give an $$ value on signed Playbills? I have a "Gypsy" Playbill signed by Miss Patti herself, which I requested by mail and she so generously provided. It will be one of the items at a charity silent auction (HOT 7: Hear of Texas Tennis Tournament... benefitting OUTYouth Central Texas). Anyway, an initial bid price is needed for this item. Would someone be a "doll" and provide some info? Your help is appreciated... from Roman in Austin, Texas

Signatures are only worth as much as the person buying/bidding is willing to pay. Patti LuPone signed a lot of Playbill's during the course of the run, so a signed Playbill is not a rarity. Is it an Opening Night Playbill? -Is the opening night date listed on the credits page? That would add to the value.
I'd say anywhere from $25-40 is a good starting range. If you know that there will be a couple of other LuPone fans at the event, go ahead and start at the higher end of the scale. *I've seen signed playbills at the BC/EFA Flea Market start as low at $5 or $10.
*On a semi-related observation, I've always found it interesting that some autographed items can "lose" value if they were personalized ("To my so-and-so.. ", etc.)

If you waited to get her autograph,
why are you trying to sell it for a breakfast for two at the Edison Diner?
$20.

Posted: 2/22/09 at 1:36amThe Playbill is the one with the red dress. It's the Gypsy CD + the signed Playbill as one bid item. It's for a good cause. from RC in Austin, Texas
