Has Christine Ebersole ever played Mame?

Yes...at Papermill in 1999.
Kelly Bishop was Vera.

Posted: 2/28/06 at 3:39pmYeah, saw that at Papermill. I just remember her being ok...I wish I had better memories. Kelly Bishop was horrible from what I remember. The theater had flooded the night before so the mics were out...I think just for the first act though.

I really loved Ebersole's Mame at Papermill. Kelly Bishop's Vera was horrendous.
From what I've read, Ebersole is also quite good as Vera, which she's played as well.

really, for Gooch, you need a typical, slightly older legit soprano with a flair for comedy who is slightly frumpy.
unfortunately, Cheno really is the only one who comes to mind immediately here.
