The parody of Pirates of Penzance:

"I am a Kevin Kline..."

"Oh is there not one maiden's breast,
That does not flutter at my beauty..."

I actually thought that WAS the lyric for a while!

Everytime I sing 'Circle of Life' with my friends, I end up singing the FB lyrics, and they get a bit fustrated and stop singing.

I break into laughter everytime I hear 'One Day More' from Les Miz since the FB lyrics are in my head. XD

Several years ago, FB appeared at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. One of the numbers was "Everything's Coming Up Merman". The line I always sing:

"And no one gets their turkey til I'm through..."

Last fall I was in an all-Broadway musical revue, and one of my songs was "Oh What A Beautiful Morning". During one of the dress rehearsals... I started singing the Forbidden Broadway parody lyrics by accident...

"Oh What a Beautiful Moron
Oh What a Beautiful Guy
I've got a beautiful hair doo
Even without my hair dye"

Thank GOD it was only a rehearsal!!!

I used to do that with Razzle Dazzle... not because I didnt know the difference (because clearly, of all people, *I* should know the difference between the two) but because I was so used to hearing the parody.

Actually, I did the Forbidden Broadway parody workshop years back and they had us do our own parodies to the tune of I Want it That Way by the Backstreet Boys... to this day, I still hear my parody in my head whenever I hear that song.

I love the Les Mis one. 'Bring It Down' makes me laugh so hard every time, as well as the At the End of the Day parody.
"they can't wait to get back home
and to read the libretto in bed!
to de-cipher whatever went on
and what we said
better read your synopsis
at the end of the play!"

The Wicked one always gets me too. I'll listen to that then get confused when listening to the actual songs when the words are different.

the other day singing luck be a lady i slipped into no leading lady tonight, which was funny but theres really no going back from that. On the subject of that song though- in forbidden broadway how do they handle that number when one of they're understudies is on?

Out Tonight and La Vie Boheme always switch between FB and normal lyrics for me re: Has anyone ever been singing a Broadway song and...

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

Whenever I hear Supercalifragilisticexpialidoshis, I always laugh and start singing Super-Frantic-Hyper-Active-Self-Indulgent-Mandy. I actually couldn't understand some of the lyrics towards the end because he was singing so fast and emailed Bryan Batt to find out what they were!

I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.

I was going to post a thread about something very similar.

Today when I was brushing my teeth I was humming Forbidden Broadway "West Side Story" and I coulnd't remember the original lyrics of "America" and I was thinking:
"What if I was doing such-and-such show and I break into Forbidden Broadway lyrics?"

I have forgotten all original lyrics of songs spoofed by Forbidden Broadway. LOL : )

Staring in a musical no one wants to see it sucks to be me. I always start singing that.
