I know that Robert Goulet signed on to play Georges in the tour of the LA CAGE revival, but I don't remember reading when the tour was scheduled to kick off.
Are they still booking stops yet? Or has it started and I've missed all the news about it?

LA CAGE is listed as being "available for one week engagements" on the Booking Group's website. To be produced by Troika. No mention of Goulet.

"Producers James L. Nederlander and Marty Richards said backstage at the Tony Awards that Robert Goulet has expressed a willingness to tour with the current Broadway revival of Jerry Herman’s LA CAGE AUX FOLLES."
Ok...so he hasn't signed anything...but he may tour.

Posted: 9/14/05 at 10:39pmI think Goulet only said he would play Georges IF there was a La Cage tour but there was no actual official announcement that said the show would actually tour. Do you guys really think there'd be a La Cage tour?

Posted: 9/14/05 at 10:59pmReally? Oh,sorry,I thought there "might" be a La Cage tour but I didn't think there were any official plans to tour the show. Maybe it will recoup its investment on the national tour.

If it tours, please let anyone star except Goulet! He was dreadful in the show and completely miscast - maybe if the part was Jean Michel's senile grandfather - who can't move or can't remember what he's saying.

Posted: 9/15/05 at 6:05pmI really hope Gary Beach decides to join the tour. I was devistated that I couldn't see him in New York as Albin/ZaZa, so I hope he'll do the tour. Is he even a "tour" kinda guy?

Posted: 9/15/05 at 6:39pmI have no idea...but I don't see Gary Beach doing the tour, plus he's slated to do Producers.

Posted: 9/15/05 at 7:03pmActually the first time I saw Mr. Beach was when he was touring in "Legends" with Carol Channing and Mary Martin. He was the bright spot in the show. But now that he is a star, i don't know if he would still do a tour. I wonder if the tour will be eqity or non-equity.
