Posted: 8/30/06 at 7:06amThere are several other threads about this, so I'd recommend doing a search to get some specifics. I'd say try to get there an hour or so early. Someone, recently got great front row, unobstructed, seats. I went a couple months ago (got there 1/2 hour early) and got the last pair and they were very obstructed in the front/extreme side of the orchestra (would have been better off with SRO, imho).

Posted: 8/30/06 at 12:40pmThey only sell student rush tickets 3 or 4 days a week. I got a standing room $22.25 ticket about 2 hours before a Friday night show.

That might still be an option...I think tomorrow is the last day they're doing rush, anyway, so by then, this will all be moot. It'll all be SRO or the partial view, if they're still doing it, after that!...Well, unless they extend the rush again (considering they were supposedly going to suspend it the week after they opened, and at least one other time after that!).

Answered my own question, but for anyone else who's interested:
Stopped by the Broadhurst during lunch, and rush is still in effect through September 28, but only for Tues-Thurs performances.
WBAF, no info on where the seats are, sorry!

Posted: 9/15/06 at 1:37pmRush is only the very partial. When I went last week even the box office guy said I would be much better off with standing room. So thats what we did and we were able to sit for act 2

To anyone who is considering doing rush this week: GET THERE EARLY!
I got to the box office at 10:08 today and the line was pretty long. They were out of rush tickets by the time I got to the window. So, I just got SRO. I heard the rush seats have bad views, anyway.
But, Thursday is the last day for rush, so I'm assuming it'll be this way for the rest of the week. Just a heads up!
Looking forward to the show tonight

Posted: 9/26/06 at 10:32amThe Student Rush seats on the far side of the orchestra were FANTASTIC. I sat in the second-to-last seat in row H (seat H22) and the only thing I missed was the top half of Samuel Barnett's head while he was singing "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered".

I think you definitely benefited from being a bit farther back, in row H, sar. I was in D in the last seat on the side and being those 4 rows closer really cut into what you could see (and hear for that matter, whenever Jamie was playing the piano). Sounds like rush was always a bit of a crapshoot. I lucked out with AMAZING seats when I rushed in previews...not so much the second time.
SRO isn't all that bad, JAC. It's long, but totally doable. When I did it, the ushers were pretty good about trying to scope out any empty seats for the SRO folks. I think just about everyone had a seat by the end of the show (some were seated in the middle of Act 1, some at intermission, and we ended up getting seats halfway through Act II...hey, every little bit helps!). You may not luck out since it's the last week and it's probably busier, but you never know!

Sorry to keep bumping this, but in case anyone is curious...
Did SRO for tonight - I'm pretty fidgety so the first act was kind of rough. During intermission, we went up to the mezz to scope out empty seats (the orchestra was completely full). The usher was EXTREMELY helpful - made it his personal mission to find seats for three of us, which he eventually did. One in the last row (the theater is very small, so it was fine) and two on the right side of the mezz about halfway down (where I was). It was much more enjoyable sitting down, obviously, but I clearly would have enjoyed it either way.
I'm assuming it's going to stay this way, if not get worse, due to both the show closing and Thursday being the last day for rush. So again, to potential rushers, get there nice and early, and to potential standees, make sure you're up to the mezz before the other SRO people so you can get in with the ushers early
Regarding the play itself - well, not like it needs another glowing review, but I'll throw in my two cents and say it truly was fantastic. If anyone is debating checking it out while it's still playing, I can't recommend it strongly enough.
