A vile & perverse variation of the “Aristocrats” joke using real names of living performers, including mine, is being emailed around the country. Many forms of sexual violence committed against me are described in this email. I believe that this email came out of an environment created as a result of my efforts for MAC reform. I want to draw your attention to Stu Hamstra’s message board to a post called “A Very Serious Issue Please Read”. The link is below.
As Scott Coulter writes, “The difference between that joke and this debacle is that 'The Aristocrats' concerns a FICTIONAL family. Here the 'joker' used real names and known personalities to spew his/her venom. [In the original joke no names are ever used.] That is a HUGE difference.” “This joke has reduced MAC to a punchline. I understand that the email's punchline reads, ‘The MAC Awards.’ (As in, ‘What do you call this revolting act?’ ‘The MAC Awards.’)"
Pls. read what Sue Matsuki, a former MAC BOD, has written about the seriousness of this situation. Sue & I have been on the opp end of the spectrum on the issue of MAC for quite some time. Yet, she has expressed her deep concern & her desire to find out who wrote this vile, disgusting email, which I am told has made it to LA & San Francisco. The writer of this remains anonymous & Sue Matsuki is hoping to smoke him out.
