I got Mrs. Harcourt in Anything Goes! So now I need some information. Is it a supporting role or a cameo? Also, if you had to cut down the show into an hour and a half, woudl you take away a lot of her lines? And does she have any solos? Thanks!
Auditioned for a show without reading the script? Tsk tsk.

I guess supporting - if I remember correctly it is Hope's mother. I think you will still have lots of lines if they cut stuff. She kinda plays a major role in the plot line. I don't believe she sings- but I could be mistaken.
I suggest reading the play soon. So you know what you are in for! =)

It's supporting but I forgot how large it is.
The only line you have to sing is in "Bon Voyage"

Mrs Harcout! Congratulations! I wonder what sort of theatre this is. Some schools (understandably) cut Mrs. Harcourt's lengthy (and quite explicit) nude scene. It's really a shame, since I think audiences really bond with her during that and the fire eating and cutting it detracts from the humilation of the death scene. Her songs are quite challenging; During the revival, they cast an opera star in this role, but even she couldn't manage the high notes. I dont' imagine you'll be giving 8 shows a week, but still be careful- so many young sopranos have found their voices irreparably harmed.
Good luck with the love scene! I know some people find a lesbian kiss (especially one that goes on for 3-4 minutes as written) funny, but I find the entire scene quite touching! Do remember, in a scene that intimate, dental hygene is key!
Hahahahahahah!!!!
Joe, don't be mean to me. This is the biggest part I've ever gotten and I am somewhat familair with the show.

joe, are you making that up, or is that in the actual script. if it is, i gotta see a real production of this show.

Mean? Me? Why would you say that! It's a wonderful part! Enjoy!

That frightens me! ANYTHING GOES is standard musical theatre repertoire - all 3 different versions!
Did Anne Francine do this in the LuPone production?
Beaver-do you mean that in a bad way or a good way?
"all 3 different versions!"
And I've done two of them...only one more to go!
