You see my high school is doing "Anything Goes" and to prepare I listened to both the 1989 remake of the 1934 soundtrack and the soundtrack with Patti LuPone and I was wondering if Moonface is suppoesd to sound terrible on the song he's supposed to sing "Be like the Bluebird"?

There is no "soundtrack" available with Patti LuPone on it. You are probably referring to the "original cast recording".

I've never heard a "Be Like the Bluebird" that sounded good. I'm pretty sure the joke is that the guy sounds like anything but a bird.

Oh yes there is Dollypop. There was a Broadway revial that opened in 1987 with Patti as Reno Sweeney at the Vivian Beaumont Thaetre at the Lincoln Center and was the winner of three Tony Awards

No one is doubting the existence of the recording. (I have a copy.) But recordings of Broadway shows are called cast recordings, not soundtracks. Soundtracks go with movies, not live theatrical productions. Just a semantics thing, but we're tetchy about it around here.

We just finished an amazing run of Anything Goes at my school yesterday! Have fun with the show!
