Been an interesting trip. It was off to a very slow start. But picked up!

Gentleman's Guide....pretty boring. Thought Bryce and Jefferson were quite good though.

Hedwig....saw it with NPH and now with Michael C Hall. If I didn't know it was Dexter, I would have never guessed. It was good, but had already seen it.

Phantom. Well, it was Phantom. Some really great scenes, but a lot of really boring ones too.

Aladdin....fun! Made me feel like a kid again. Liked the first Act better then the second.

On The Town....Fantastic! Loved it. All the way around, it was great. Would like to see it again sometime!

Yet to come....Side Show, The River, The Elephant Man and This Is Our Youth.

Have a good trip. Go into This Is Our Youth with LOW expectations and you might enjoy it, for what it is. I didn't get the love for Gentlemen's Guide either. Had a lot more fun at Aladdin (and really at Rocky and Bullets).

^Agreed about This Is Our Youth. I went in with extremely low expectations and came out really enjoying it. We rushed tickets and got front row center which was a really neat experience as well. Look for the subtle things that the actors do in that play, that's what made it enjoyable for me.

If you got Michael C. Hall and Norm Lewis, that seems enough to reinvigorate another viewing of Hedwig and Phantom. Either way, seems strange to fault them for being the same show you saw before, heh.

I'm now 7 shows in.

Side Show...I'm still kind of scratching my head trying to decide if I liked it or not. I'm just not sure. Very creative and well done. Can't make up my mind.

The River....Hmmmm. Great acting. Interesting. I think I get it, but I'm not sure.

Bottom line for today...enjoyable, but I'm not sure if I really liked either show. I just don't know. Guess I need to sleep on this!

9 out 9 now.

The Elephant man was excellent! Bradley Cooper was amazing. I'm sure there will be a Tony nod in his future.

This Is Our Youth was entertaining. I thought all three actors played their parts very well.

Always sad when a theatre binge trips comes to and end. But it has. Until next time New York!

Care to comment on the technical design of On The Town that many people hated? Would love to hear the opinion from someone who actually enjoyed it.

I thought the technical design was great. Big theatre, with a big American flag hanging as the curtain (more or less), a nice soothing, easy on the eyes, blue color light surrounding the stage. All the sets for each scene were very appropriate and some just plain fun. The "boxing/fight" dance was really neat with how the ring was formed. Orchestra was great. This was definitely my favorite musical I saw this time around and The Elephant Man was may favorite play.

Thanks for your reviews. I'm seeing six of these shows when I go to NY in December (plus I saw Hedwig in April). Gosh, just over a month before I get there. :)
