Apparently, it will be a new hybrid somewhere between Mamma Mia! and Movin' Out. Both of which are, of course, new hybrids.

Wouldn't it be great if Gary Beach signed on as one of the stars?
Just what Broadway needs. Mama, make it STOP!!!
Why don't we just open up a couple of casinos and change the name of the city to EAST LAS VEGAS?

I have to ask out of curiosity why, JakeB, are you pleased there's going to be a Beach Boy musical? Can NOT for the life of me imagine how having..."fun, fun, fun 'til your daddy takes the T-bird away" could possibly advance the plot of anything. For me, I'd just prefer listening to the original CD on a sunny day.

God only knows.
I need to get my eyes checked. I thought it said BEACH boys musical. I see now it says BITCH Boys musical. I am sure a number of us will be lined up for those auditions!
Help!!!! When will this madness stop?!

Of course I'm not pleased! This is the worst Broadway news since All Shook Up.. which was about, what, two weeks ago?
Folks, if people weren't doing these shows it in no way means producers would be supporting whichever saviour du jour the theater pundits have told you to like the most. It wouldn't change a thing.
I don't care about the Beach Guys, but let's be devil's advocate here - wasn't there a lot of hand-wringing over the future of Broadway when BEATLEMANIA opened some 25 years ago?
These shows are revues, nothing more, nothing less. Hardly a new concept, hardly the end of days. I'm equally disinterested in 99% of the revivals out there, really. Either way, it's Broadway banking on known properties.
But will John Stamos play Glenn Campbell?
John Stamos could play one of the Beach Boys in the 60's, only to return later and play himself from the 'Full House' days.
