Idina's "High Profile" new project

Hi, I don't think this is a repeat because I didn't see another post about this, but if it is, my apologies:

"Did I speak too soon in last week's column, when I championed Wicked star Idina Menzel for her perfect attendance record six months into the run of the show? Sort of--Menzel did, in fact, miss last week's Sunday matinee, allowing standby Eden Espinosa to have her first crack at playing Wicked's moss-colored heroine (to rave reviews from friends of mine in attendance). But the biggest backstage secret is why Menzel had to miss the show. I'm not at liberty to say, but there's a high-profile new project on the diva's horizon!"

Has anyone heard anything about this high profile project?

I hope they're planning on filming the original cast of RENT.... but I'm sure that's not it.

Actually, a baby is a pretty reasonable guess. Maybe she had a doctors appointment or something.

its gotta be a baby.. she even said after wicked she wanted to start a family.. maybe they just got a little ahead of thereselves :)

You think there was a scheduled missed performance (a few days in advance) on a sunday so she could go to a doctor?

Not ruling it out.. just seems unlikely..

Guys, it can't be a baby...If it is, then she'd be leaving wicked really soon, b/c you can't fly if you're pregnant. So if we hear that she's leaving Wicked, than she's pregnant (or so I would think)

I thought she missed because of the extra show on Sunday would be too much for her, and that Eden's maiden Aunts from Vero were flying int town to see their little Eden on Broadway. Okay, the second part I made up, but it could be true.

Maybe she is leaving this summer. I don't think the whole original cast will be there into the fall. They started on the show back in April/May 2003 for San Fran, no?

Hey guys-I didn't mean for this post to get this uh awkward i guess, I was just wondering if there was some big theatre/musical/music project I didn't know about that you all did...and I agree that I think it's a little strange/unfair for us to be speculating on whether or not she's pregnant, because that is such a personal thing. If you guys here more about this movie, I'm sure many of us would be glad to hear about it!

...Sorry, I don't mean to sound like I'm talking down to anyone, because I have no place doing that, it's just that I think it's really not right for us to be speculating on anything so personal...but thats just my opinion.

You guys are so out there sometimes. Yes, I am sure she would take off a Sunday to go to the doctors because so many Dr's offices are open that day. lol

I completely agree. I'm sorry I added to the discussion--sometimes I don't know when to keep my mouth shut! Thanks for opening my eyes! We'll find out about the movie soon enough, I'm sure. Until then we'll all just enjoy Idina's incredible performances in WICKED :)
