I've seen it a few times and it makes the show look REALLY bad. I haven't seen it (the show) and the commercials make me really want to avoid it.
is the show really as bad as it seems?

No. Ive honestly never heard her say anything even remotely bad about a show.

There's one on the air as I type. I get a kick of the quote "jaw dropping frenzy run amok" from Ben Brantley. I don't think Ben meant that as a complimentary review of the musical.

..and most ironic is that the commercial in using the Ben Brantley quote preceeds it with the words "Ben Brantley raves..."
The only "rave" from Ben Brantley about THIS musical would be in the sense of him "raving on" against it.
