Has anyone else seen this? I remember seeing at my local library back in high school and when I went home for the holidays I tried to find it and there was no match.
It was the Into the Woods story told like a children's book with some really neat drawings and illustrations.
I have it. I had the video before, though, and I remember reading on the video case:
WINNER! 3 TONY AWARDS INCLUDING
BEST ACTRESS
BEST SCORE
AND
BEST BOOK
and I thought that the picture book was what won the Tony so I bought it LOL. I didn't know...
But I have it and it's a nice condensment of an otherwise plotheavy story. The pictures are great as well.

My mother bought it for her classroom...it's somewhere in the house now.
I read it a few months ago. I'm surprised no one has made a big fuss over two of the images. In one, Jack is resting comfortably between the Giantess' exposed cleavage. In another, Rapunzel is shown in her tower completely naked, save for her long hair.
I'm not saying that people should complain or that it should be pulled from the children's library. It just amused me that it hasn't caused a ruckus. Back in the early 90s, some parents raised a stinker because a WHERE'S WALDO? book featured a topless woman (from the back and side view of breast) tanning in a beach scene where a boy is placing his ice cream cone on her back.

The book's been out of print for over 10 years. We weren't so uptight in the late 80's/early 90's. The "religious right" didn't have so much power.

It was at the merchandise counter at the revival.
It's out of print, but my distributor still has it in their warehouse. I keep it in stock at my store, but I keep it with the musical theater books, instead of the children's illustrated.
It's also still available on Amazon.

I have it. It's nice and all, but I prefer the libretto.
