James, Kudisch and Charles to Join Chenoweth in The Apple Tree

Somehow when I read the Young Frankenstein article I missed Marc's name. When I heard later I got already more excited than I was about it. Now he's doing The Apple Tree...I'm thrilled for him to be back on broadway!

Just remember that it's a Roundabout production. Tickets go on sale to Roundabout subscribers first, then to AMEX, then the general audience.

I think Roundabout is Visa Signature, not AmEx.

Also, how did the Encores version sell? Was it hard to get tickets for?

I saw it at Encores on the Saturday matinee and there were TONS of empty seats...City Center is a much bigger theater than Studio 54 though.

So happy BdJ is back on Broadway so soon after his great turn as Freddie in DRS! He is going to the be the reason I see this show.

I hope to see it, too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they WOULDN'T record this, since it's a limited run, would they?

That has nothing to do with anything, many limited engagement productions have been recording The Light in the Piazza, Nine, The Pajama Game, and the Pacific Overtures revival are just a few that come to mind.

It's a matter of demand. Piazza played long enough to warrant a recording. Nine extended numerous times and had a very high profile cast. Pajama Game's record was done in conjunction with Harry's label, which is why that was recorded. Pacific Overtures was recorded, like The Frogs, for Nonesuch, which is the Sondheim label of choice.

On the other hand, you have shows like Threepenny Opera which fall by the wayside because there is no demand besides the message board junkies, despite having names like Alan Cumming, Cyndi Lauper, and Nellie McKay attached.

Apple Tree will most likely get a recording. It's a high profile revival of a show that hasn't had a resurrection.

This makes me even more exicted for this production! Cheno, Marc Kudisch and Brian d'Arcy James in the same show! I really wish I could see it, but, alas, I don't live anywhere near NYC.

Interesting about the pairing of Kristin and Marc...I wonder what will happen with it...

There's a lot I am not certain of...

Has anyone seen any more promos for Apple Tree? I'm just surprised that it's starting previews in less than two weeks and all we've seen is the logo...
