Apropos of "if you can't say anything nice" I would like to say that I went to see "Joy of Sex" last night. Perhaps people were expecting something different, but I found it to be a rather pleasant evening. The cast was excellent (extremely funny). The book was good (more of a domestic comedy set to music). Music was O.K., about on average of a so-so off-Broadway musical. All in all, I really didn't see why it took such a critical drubbing. Overall, I enjoyed it more than Johnny Guitar, Zanna Don't, Summer of '42, or "Reefer Maddness".
Just my opinion, I may be wrong. But if you get a chance see it, the cast is definatly worth it.
I saw it during it's preview phase, so I gave it the benefit of the doubt but clearly, it did not improve hence, the closing notice.
Joy to the world.
I did not hate it but it was not good. I loved Zanna Don't.
How can you compare them?
