Michael Rupert has posted tracks from the 1968 show THE HAPPY TIME on his MySpace page. Including a demo performed by John Kander & Fred Ebb. According to his blog, it's only going to be deleted tomorrow, so listen while you can.

Thanks for the link. I never saw the show, as I wasn't born yet. But this one on of my late father's favorite shows.
Great Score! I DON'T REMEMBER YOU is perfect.

Love the score to THE HAPPY TIME...Thanks for the link, I was going to post it, but you beat me to it.
Does anyone know if that's Kander or Ebb singing on the demo track?
I don't know and it doesn't state in the blog.
It sounds like the late Fred Ebb.

I know, one of the tracks on the player is from the cast album, we were talking about the composer demo.
That's strange. What's he talking about?

I don't know...If we are all saying we love the score, then obviously we've heard the CD...Even in Michael's blog for MySpace it talks about the Broadway Cast CD.
This show was a family favorite. I saw it about 6 times when I was a kid. Mike Rupert wasn't that much older than I was. He was amazing. (And I guess I was just "amazed"!) Robert Goulet was also great. David Wayne, too...and George S. Irving. I think Lou Jacobi was in it as well. We listened to (and sang and danced along with) the LP hundreds of times while growing up. I still know all the songs by heart. I met Mike Rupert once and he had very nice things to say about Mr. Goulet.
Irving was in it but not Jacobi. In addition , Charles Durning was in it. Whatever happened to Julie Gregg ?
Opened 1/18/68 ( exactly 37 years ago - that is scary ) @ the Broadway & closed after 285 performances. Should definitely be revived at an off broadway house. It was too big for the Broadway . K & E I heard wanted to originally do this as a smaller show. I would love to hear those songs that were dropped along the way.
Wow! Charles Durning! He must have been pretty young. I think I get George S. Irving and Lou Jacobi confused sometimes. I don't know why. I love them both though!!!!
