i agree that Kinky Boots, while deceptively simple and kitschy on the surface, conveys a level of storytelling and character development prowess not often seen in the musical theater medium. For instance, the character of Don,

There was really very little character development in the show (and I had a good time seeing it), especially in regard to the character of Don.

Jordan, if that picture really is of Stevie3, I don't think he would be caught dead at a musical about transvestites and acceptance. And he wouldn't be caught dead in the "Devil's Playground" either. If he was a 63 year old lady with purple hair and a lot of fake bling, maybe...
