Hugh beat his own record for The Boy from Oz in 2003.

"Well Done!" to both Hugh and Daniel!

They beat it by a LOT, too.

Congrats to all that helped bring in record breaking dollars for a great cause.

Good for them, I wish we could have stars like this on Broadway all the time to raise this kind of money. And I wish the people who donated luck, it's a lot of money for a picture, poster, shirt, or whatever because they are crazy!

A+ for achievement and effort!

Their adorable little speeches and banter and undershirt auctions were the most entertaining part of A Steady Rain. Even though they did the same speeches every night, for like three weeks straight or however long it was, they both still managed to keep it sincere and endearing and fun for everyone. The two times I saw the show (and the fundraising bit), I've never seen a more enthusiastic audience, ever. They really did a great job.

If this were going into the pockets of Jackman and Craig, I'd agree with you. But since this is going to such a noble cause, I don't think they're crazy. They're generous.

HIV and AIDS causes are really suffering right now because of the economy. I praise BCEFA and the generous donors for doing to much for HIV/AIDS. And if you haven't purchased Carols for a Cure yet, it's an affordable way to donate.

Auctions work best when you offer a one-of-a-kind item or something nutty as an incentive to give. I think the shirts off their backs idea is genius. Jackman did it during Boy from Oz and it worked like a charm.

To quote Daniel Craig: 'It's tax deductible.... TAX DEDUCTIBLE....TAX DEDUCTIBLE!' lol

Regarding the big donations, for the undershirts and pictures, etc: A $2000-$10,000 charitable contribution/tax write off is worth a lot to a lot of people.

So you give a s**tload to charity, your wife gets a picture, undershirt, and a kiss from Daniel and Hugh, you feel good about doing good, you'll have a fun story to tell friends, and come April 2010 you'll save yourself thousands of dollars in taxes that you would have otherwise had to pay. And you'll have had a lot of fun doing it. It's not so crazy.

More like 6 weeks. The last week they didn't do it every performance.

Not to mention all the sex that will come after.
