Legally Blonde Composers

I read on this board a while ago that the composers for Legally Blonde were chosen the same way that they were chosen for Ragtime. For those of you who don't know how they were chosen for Ragtime what happened was a bunch of composers submitted a few songs and then the composer(s) whose songs they liked the most was chosen.

Does anybody know who else was in the running for Legally Blonde?

And Sondheim_Geek...doesn't know what he's talking about...

The people entering would be a complete unknowns, or had done very little. I mean, can you see Andrew Lloyd Webber composing the music for a stage adaption of Legally Blonde?

I assumed that most of them would be unkowns, but with Ragtime I think one or two of them were established composers (or they came to be famous composers).
