I went to Japan this past week and I was fortunate enough to get a chance to see Les Miserables. And sure enough, they cut the same verses in "Little People" as the current revival on Broadway, and Gavroche's death was changed to Ten Little Bullets.
So I was wondering, has London, and any other current productions, changed those bits?
Went to see London Les Mis at the end of June. IIRC, most of 'Little People' was gone, but he did reprise it when he died. I think I prefer 'Ten Little Bullets' at that point...
"Most of Little People?" Little People hasn't been more than a verse long since 1985; hard to see how they could cut it any more without getting rid of it entirely.
Ten Little Bullets beats Little People anyway, hands down. Lord forbid that the cute factor (or the stage time) get diminished in favor of actual character development.
They cut it even more in the revival. It's only the first verse now, which ends at "It only goes to show what little people can do." At least it was the last time i saw it.
I miss the reprise. I don't like Ten Little Bullets as much.
In the revival it is only the first verse. It goes as follows
Good evening dear inspector lovely evening my dear. I know this man my friends his names inspector Javert. So don't believe a word he says 'cus none of it's true. That only goes to show what litle people can do.
I doo wonder still however, where ten little Bullets came in in the original incarnation. I know it was a song that was cut out of the orginal as to the fact it is not on the OLC
Is it a different tune? I'm not familiar with this piece, are there any english recordings which have "Ten Little Bullets"?
It's to the tune of his verses in Look Down. And from what I know it hasn't been recorded.
