Just got this email from Joe's Pub:

July 18th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd at 7:00 and 9:30 pm

The multi-talented, dynamic show-stopper Lillias White who "can hold a note longer than Carmen McRea and sounds like a cross-pollination of Sarah Vaughan and Dinah Washington" (Rex Reed) celebrates the 21st anniversary of her 21st birthday with an exclusive extended engagement at Joe's Pub.

Ms. White won the Tony, the People's Choice, the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Awards for Best Actress in a Musical (Broadway's prestigious 'Quadruple Crown') for her 1997 turn as Sonja in the musical "The Life." In 1990, she won the Obie for Best Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Hennie in "Romance in Hard Times". Most recently she recorded "Dreamgirls:The Concert", "Too Hot To Handle" (a Gospel version of Handel's Messiah) and was featured alongside Tony Bennett on Cy Coleman's most recent record. She regularly appears in concert at The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

How old is she really? Not trying to be smart, I'm just curious as to why she's celebrating her 21st Birthday...or is that how long she has been in theatre?

Yeah, that is her "show" age, because imdb has something way different.

I just watched "Pieces of April" again. She's great in it.

Don't forget her show-stopping performance in "H2$". I didn't know who she was until I saw this, and wow! The audience was blown away.
