I can't wait for this tour. I love orchestrations for this show! My show choir saw it when they went to London (I didn't go) and they loved it. For my birthday, I ordered the CD online since it is only available in London.
What do you guys think of this show? Do you think it will make it to Broadway?

Posted: 9/11/03 at 8:08pmDarlin...it is available here. As a matter of fact, I saw it recently at Virgin in Times Square. So you may want to ck that again. As for the show coming here...they are really going to have to re-work that book. It has many British jokes that will not go over well here at all. I loved the music...thought the book was ridiculous, but laughed my arse off the whole time. I really enjoyed the cast and loved getting to see Brian May in person. He was there for a charity event.

There are so many things that are just offensively bad about WWRY that it is impossible to know where to start. The only good thing when the show started was the singing, BUT these songs are not designed to be sung 8 times a week at full belt and all of the cast except one have had terrible vocal problems. Tony Vincent had to have an operation on his throat for a burst blood vessel and has been out of the show all summer.

Posted: 9/12/03 at 7:00amWell, when I purchased it in January, it wasn't available. Maybe a store in Times Square might have in, but not in the middle of Ohio. Also, all I have heard is the score, so I really do not know about the book. The songs are very powerful, so I also do not know how they do 8 shows a week!

Posted: 9/12/03 at 7:26amUnfortunately I don't think Our House will ever make it over to this side of the Pond. It closed in London and I don't think it made it's money back. It's a shame because I really loved this show. I'm just glad I got the chance to see it before it closed.

Some lines are just too bad for words:
TEACHER: What more could you possibly want?
GALILEO: (sings) I want to break free.
It's just so untactful and unthought-through.
The storyline is about a world where musical instruments are banned. It is incredibly historically inaccurate too. It's set 300 years into the future and they talk about all their favourite musicians who died but fail to include people like Paul McCartney and Elton John because they're still living.
The fact is, in England it's sold on two things - 1, Queen, and 2, Ben Elton. Have you guys even heard of Ben Elton? He will honestly not be able to write the script for the Broadway production, it makes DOTV look really intellectual and challenging.

Posted: 9/12/03 at 9:54pmI wouldn't be shocked if this made it to Broadway, BUT I would be shocked if it ran here. Queen doesn't have the massive appeal they do over there and this is truly dreadful. beyond bad.

Posted: 9/13/03 at 10:07amThe "new" revised version of We Will Rock You has recently opened in Melbourne, Australia, and from what a friend has told me it still stinks. The whole show is pitched at the lowest common denominator. This is the version which reportedly will be used in the U.S.
