Love Never Dies NYC Opening Night Tickets?

Ok, so I'm 14 and have never done or tried to order opening night tickets to a show. What's the deal? Do they set a specific time tickets go on sale? Will they be super expensive? Is the first preview opening night? If you could just answer these questions I'll be so grateful!

The first preview is not opening night. A show usually has a week or two of preview performances, during which time they can see how an audience reacts to the show and make changes if they need to. Opening night is the night with the red carpet and the stars and the party. This is the point at which the show is frozen, because reviews come out the next day.

If opening night tickets go on sale, you can buy them the same way you would a ticket for any other performance. They should be the same price.

Much more likely, however, tickets for opening night will not be on sale because of all the comps and invited guests. Sometimes shows will suddenly release a few available tickets, but not until a day or two before the performance. A lot of shows put left over opening night tickets on papering services that distribute free tickets to members who pay a monthly fee, for the purpose of filling the house when there are critics or special guests present. A papering service is more discreet than TKTS or something because it can be a sign that the show is in trouble when it starts to paper the house.
