This is from an email from the Transport Group, the New York theater company:

"Transport Group's beloved Lovette George lost her battle with ovarian cancer on September 6, 2006. We remember her today and always.

Lovette George is the dazzling 2004 Drama Desk nominee (Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical (Musical of Musicals (the Musical)) who appeared in Transport Group's production of Requiem for William. A loyal Transport Group artist and committed colleague, Ms. George's electric wit, generous spirit and contagious laughter will be deeply missed by the Transport Group family."

How incredibly sad.... She was extremely talented and absolutely wonderful. I went to see "Musical" again just to enjoy her amazing performance once more.

This is absolutely tragic. George was such a sweet woman as well as an amazing performer. She will be missed.

I met her once through a friend, and she just lit up the room, and was so wonderful to be around. Rest in Peace, Lovette!!! I will miss you.

She was one of my NFAA ARTS judges, and so sweet, and smart.
And a absolutely beautiful performer as well.

I am so sorry to see her go.

Wow. This is shocking and sad. I thought she did an absolutely amazing job in Musicals and I think I posted to look for her to star in a show sometime in the near future.
