Making it on Broadway: Actors' Tales of Climbing to the Top

I was wondering if anyone has read this book. It is by David Wienir, and Jodie Langel. I have had it for years and it is one of my favorite theatre books. It has anecdotes from many actors about their struggles in theatre their humorous bloopers, their tony memories and more. If anyone else has read it I would love to hear your thoughts on it. If anyone would like me to post some of the anecdotes please tell me. Notable chapters include Singing for Supper, The Broadway Lifestyle, The Base of the Tony is Plastic, and Take Two.

I also read it and loved it. Unfortunately that wasn't what my parents intended when they bought it for me... They were hoping I'd be disheartened by the anecdotes of people living in roach-infested closet sized apartments and change my mind about going into theatre. Their little plot didn't work.

I own this book, and honestly - it was quite depressing. as much as I love reading the various anecdotes, it was hard to read about JUST how difficult the struggle to "make it" can be. by the end of it, I was questioning just how much I wanted to be in this field. it contains some fantastic "insider" stories, though.

I read it and loved it! If you truly want to make it in the business, then you should read it.
