Manoel Felciano's Broadway Spotlight Last Night

Did anyone else catch Mano's concert last night at Ars Nova?

Highlights for me were his redition of "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" with Merle Dandridge the Sting song "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic," which I think is the one he said he sang for his first audition ever. OH and the Randy Newman stuff with the lovely (and very pregnant) Ms. Errico was GORGEOUS!

Not having seen him do anything but Sweeney before, I was incredibly impressed by his (dare I say thrilling?) rock vocals...not to mention we now know he can write songs, sing a capella harmony, compose acrostic sonnets, reference obscure mythology and play the guitar and bass (two of the few instruments he doesnt play in Sweeney). Sheesh.

Did I mention the charisma? Somehow he made spilling water all over the floor (twice) and forgetting to introduce Alex Gemignani seem charming. I'm tempted to go back to the encore show next week.
