Mary Faber departs Avenue Q...

Tonight marked what was supposed to be the final performance of Mary Faber as Kate Monster/Lucy The Slut in Avenue Q. She's been with the show just shy of two years.

A friend and I were around the theatre tonight (we had tickets for her last, and were around to check out what the refund policy was), and we saw the cast outside of the theatre on the picket line with a cake for Mary, singing to her and celebrating her final night. It was a really sweet send-off...

She will be missed, but I cannot wait to see what she goes onto now!

Best wishes to Mary! I really enjoyed her Kate/Lucy. Glad she got a proper goodbye despite the work stoppage.

Sarah Stiles is tiny, isn't she?? She was hilarious in Spelling Bee! From a video I saw of her from another show she did with Megan Hilty (which I can't remember what show it was)--she had the same voice she did in Spelling Bee. Can she really play Kate AND Lucy? I know she can pull off Kate probably but I'm just curious about her playing Lucy. I'm sure she'll be great though :).

Congrats to Mary! She was a sweetheart when I met her around when she started! :) Best of luck to her and what she goes on to do!!

Congratulations to Sarah, and it's a pity that Mary didn't actually get to perform her last, but it's great that she got some sort of send-off. Best of luck to her!

Yeh, that is sad that Mary didnt get to perform her last scheduled day. I absolutely adored her Kate & Lucy, and as much as I love Stephanie D'Abruzzo, I think Mary was my favorite of all the people I've seen in those roles.

I loved Mary in Avenue Q. She was more enjoyable with each visit to the show. It's heartwarming to hear that the cast did their own little celebration outside of the theatre.

I can't wait to see what Sarah Stiles brings to Kate and Lucy!

Although I must admit Stephanie was my favorite, Mary was indeed excellent. I'm also happy to hear that she had a nice send off even if she wasn't able to perform her last show.

I wish her luck in whatever she does next.

Mungo - Mary, Sarah, and Kate Wetherhead were in Dana Ivey's recent presentation of the Vanities (Sarah also did the role at Theatreworks with Megan Hilty and Leslie Kritzer).
