Terrence McNally is at work on a new one-woman show for Chita Rivera.
And it's all about Chita.

"Instead of writing an autobiography, she should perform it," said producer Marty Bell.

Yet to be titled, the biotuner will workshop under the direction of Graciela Daniele next summer at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. McNally wrote the books for such Rivera starrers as "The Visit," "The Rink" and "Kiss of the Spider Woman." For their new venture together, the scribe is working from interviews the actress did with Patrick Pacheco, editor of Show People magazine.

Bell looks to 2005 for a full production of the show.

"Elaine Stritch at Liberty," another Broadway-dame solo act, proved very successful during the 2001-02 season and won the Tony for special event.
