Uh oh! from the NY Post.com
Michael Riedel
Looks like he's found a new target.
From what I've seen and heard from this show it looks like a train wreck anyway.

How much has been seen or heard of this yet? Aside from one song on the Tonys not sung by anyone in the show... and, according to Riedel, a table read. I know people want to call things early, but shouldn't we let them have one rehearsal first?

I hate that Riedel is trying to say that Gentleman's Guide only won because it had more producers (in his previous article below). I find GG to be a superior show to Beautiful in so many ways, and it deserved its win.

They previewed a couple of songs from the original version awhile ago.
I'm not sure if they are still in the show since Harvey fired Frankel and Korie.
The Barlow songs I've heard are pretty sub-par.
"Considering what they had to cut from the broadcast in order to accommodate Weinstein"
What did they have to cut?
I liked the fact they had more musical numbers... that being said I was reaslly upset they didn't let Audra perform.

Regarding Neverland, as my aunt Essie would say "What's to like?"
"I was reaslly upset they didn't let Audra perform."
Did her show offer to pay for her to perform a number from Lady Day, and they were turned down?
How could Roger Bart "overstep the mark"? Unless he was unprofessional and personally abusive- which I found very hard to believe- then his honest candid judgments ought to have been welcomed or at least acknowledged. You can disagree with someone without firing them.
So was he abusive or did they just not want to hear what he had to say?
If there was a bit more aerial work, I'd swear this was turning into Spiderman 2.
I saw the show in London and while it has numerous problems, the score was the weakest link. I'm glad they are starting over.
Riedel's smelling blood in the water.
It'd be nicer if he targeted Paulus for using a non-profit theatre as an out-of-town tryout center.

That Smee jab was hilarious.
Is this her first attempt at a new musical? I haven't been too impressed with her directing. Curious to see what she brings to the table. I feel like her last two hits were all based on this spectacle idea, with the actual directing of scenes to be kind of lackluster.
Anyone see her Cirque show?
Roger Bart has never struck me as the boisterous, abusive, over the line type. Wonder if/when we will get the full story behind his departure.
Riedel is such a creep.

^^^ Agreed. Just reading this article annoyed me.

Oh for ****'s sake….
Is this her first attempt at a new musical?
She also directed The Donkey Show, The Karaoke Show and Eli's Comin.
Weinstein bought a spot at the Tonys. So what if we did not remember those who died.

If these walls could talk!
Wow jeez! that's really intense! I can't help but wonder what Bart could have said to get himself fired after being encouraged to discuss the show...
"Anyone see her Cirque show?"
I did! It was brilliant and beautiful! I'm personally a big fan of Paulus from what I've seen of her shows. I bet she'll do a great job with this show, even if the material is lacking.
