#0Musical Theater in New England.. Please Help Me!!!!!
Posted: 11/22/04 at 8:51pmHello everyone , now i know this has been on this website alot but iam being rather picky. Ok i am a baritone male who has a pretty good range, i sing alots of bass/baritone songs but sometimes considered tenor.. also i dont have dance experience and for acting i take lessons and i have played such roles as Motel in Fiddler and Mortimer in Arsenic. I am applying to college and i have found like NYU ,Boston, Ithaca, UCONN, WCSU, and some others but i need to find a safety school or at least one that if i have a good audition theres a chance. So i was wondering if anyone knew of any schools in the new england area that is a muscial theater major... if you could please help out that would be amazing..... thanks alot... my email is WhMikeE587@aol.com ... or just post back the message THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Hey
I too am looking for Musical Theatre BFA programs for college, and in the New England area, I found that I love Boston Conservatory, and Emerson (both in very nice neighboorhoods in Boston). Since you are already applying to NYU, u are obviously willing to go to new york, so i would also recommend Fordham, and Eugene Lang (it's really really tiny though)...hope that helps! PM me if you wanna talk more! I love talking about BFA college auditions! :)

Posted: 11/22/04 at 9:06pmIf you are considering going to new york, as mentioned above Fordham does not have a Musical Theatre program, and Eugene Lang would hardly be considered a safety school. Marymount has a fantastic program, but also not easy to get into.

Posted: 11/22/04 at 9:14pmMarymount is another great one. The only problem, IMO is that from what Ive heard, you can't major in Musical Theatre. You either need to major in acting, or dance, but can minor in the other.
