Camelot - April 11 - 29, 2007
Sweet Charity - May 1 - 20, 2007
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee - October 2007
Twelve Angry Men - December 2007
Disney's The Lion King - December 2007
Whistle Down the Wind - January 2008
I know they announced this before, and usually the seasons are less than stellar, however I am sooooo excited to see that "WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND" is coming. I hadn't realize this was touring here. Does anyone else know anywhere else it is coming or which touring company it is?
Also, I'm glad to see that they are going to bring in at least one play this year. I thought they'd given up.
Martin Short's FAME BECOMES ME was on the list originally, and is still pictured on the website but has been removed from the list. I wonder why??

I recently e-mailed Broadway in Detroit about the absence of Fame Becomes Me and here's what they said:
"The National tour of Martin Short Fame Becomes Me has been cancelled. It has been replaced with Andrew Lloyd Weber's Whistle Down The Wind."
And yes this season has been out since December, although Whistle Down the Wind was just recently added.

Posted: 2/12/07 at 5:44pmJustChillin - Thanks for the insight. One thing I'll say for them, they do answer emails very promptly. I email them quite frequently and I always get a speedy reply. Lately though, I have tried not to bug them as much. I'm afraid of being put on some sort of list!

Posted: 2/12/07 at 5:47pmB3TA07, that didn't even occur to me. Maybe it's a pre-broadway run or an engagement of a pre-Broadway tour. Hmm....

I emailed the Nederlander's and here's what they said.
"The tour of Whistle Down the Wind is being put together by Columbia Artists. They are still working on dates for the tour at this time. We have no knowledge if they plan on taking this into New York. "
The Columbia Artists website has it pictured as a 'North American Touring Premiere". This is the same touring company that is touring Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Cats, Chicago, Wonderful Town, Evita, The Dancer's Life, etc. I wonder what acting scale they'll choose for WHISTLE? Equity/Non-Equity? Can't really tell. All of their other shows are different contracts.

Awww, that one brings back memories! I saw that show in DC when I was 14, and loved it. I feel like I'll still love it now, even if I see it again and realize it's terrible. (Or who knows? Maybe I'll realize it's good.) If it comes anywhere near the NYC area, I am so there.

Posted: 2/15/07 at 4:59pmI heard the set used in London in the summer (from the UK tour) was being sent over to America. I presume this is what is being used

Interesting since that set is Bill Kenwright's (hope I spelled his name right) and I thought he was thinking of sending out another UK tour. Anyway, nothing is confirmed for a US tour yet.
