What new musicals are you most looking forward to seeing that are opening in the next few months? I'm hoping to take a quick overnight trip to NYC for the holiday season and would love to see one of the most anticipated shows opening this season. The last show I saw was If/Then.
All suggestions are welcomed!
The only new musicals I can think of that are opening this calendar year are The Last Ship and Honeymoon in Vegas.
I haven't seen The Last Ship yet, but there is a thread on it here:

It's not garnering much enthusiasm among the posters here.
I've only heard the score to Honeymoon and it's great. But who knows how the show will end up.
The buzzier musicals are all slated for 2015.
I would actually recommend The Curious Incident. While it's not a musical it's gotten great reviews and won a slew of Oliviers across the pond.
Honeymoon in Vegas is actually opening next calendar year, so every new musical opening this year has already started performances of some sort. In addition, Honeymoon was shown at the Papermill last year so I'm sure there was a thread on it somewhere.

Honeymoon will be in previews starting in November.
Honeymoon was very enjoyable at the Papermill much in the way Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was but the score is not as interesting as that movie turned musical. I doubt it will hold up well against its Broadway cousins. But it's got a cute plot and some wonderful performances. There's just no style or concept around it . Very much an insert song here type of adaptation. But still enjoyable. How's that for a schizophrenic recommendation?
