Just looking at what was on sale last week from TKT's, you probably guessed I am planning a trip to New York soon.

http://www.entertainment-link.com/tkts.asp

What I noticed was that 'Newsie' was on sale twice on the booth last week, which is a surprise in itself as the show is sold out, but what surprised me even more the two shows that were on sale, were both matinees, these performances I suspected would be the first to be sold out as they are family friendly and Newsie is a family friendly score?

They released a discount code the other day as well, so it appears sales are slipping a little bit.

The tickets at TKTS last week for both NEWSIES and ONCE were both obstructed view. Both shows are now selling standing room which is a great option for seeing the shows on a budget.

Also, if you're coming to New York after the Tony Awards (June 10), I imagine the winners will be harder to get at TKTS, at least for a while.

I just picked up discount tix for Newsies last night. For early July. GADS of seats to choose from.

And yes, sales will likely pick up quite a bit after the Tony Awards, particularly if they win the big one. (although I'm rooting for Once.)

Rememeber: they can, and often do, pull a discount code after the Tonys.

I want to see both Once and Newsies in late June, and I was nervous that TKTS tix and other discounts wouldn't be available then, so I did use the code to buy Newsies. I'm still thinking about what to do for Once.

I didn't realize they were obstructed view. I was hoping to get a ticket for this weekend. Is the discount code for use immediately or after Tonys? (Also where can I find it?)

Discount code is BOX. Buy before May 28. If you're a member of Plum, they have a code too. (The same deal, essentially.)

Why doesn't TKTS have a website with current offerings like the discount booth in London?

Also realize NEWSIES often sells out last minute, it does not have the greatest advance, which was likely why DISNEY held off announcing the openened run. This occures often at Disney shows, for example Mermaid sold out for the for the first six months of its run, but then tickets took a nose dive. Disney is lilly trying to prevent this with the advance sale discount, and it will likely be the only discount they will have due to the nature of it selling out last minute, so if you buy your tickets 2 months in advance yes you will get a discount, but the closer you get to the day of the performance the higher the price, similarly to what Book of Mormon does but you have to go so far into the future to buy a ticket it's not even worth it. I honestly think Disney will keep this type of discount going for as long as they can, to make sure NEWSIES has a good advance.

Does anyone know the info for Newsies standing room? It's not on the Playbill Rush/Lotto/Standing Room page.

Is there a huge rush to the box office with all the lotto losers?
I know when Adam and Anthony were in ReNT they lotted off the SRO spots to avoid a rush to the box office.
I wonder if they'll have to start doing the same with Newsies bc I hear the lotto is always packed Updated On: 5/22/12 at 11:40 PM

The thing with Newsies is that no one knows of its sro policyand Disney will likely just follow Mormons policy then that you can't do both sro and lottery, and sro line forms whenever someone wants to start waiting but they won't be sold till at least an hour before curtain

I wish they would just sell SRO at 10AM to make people avoid waiting all day
I think Mormon should do the same
Like I get having people rush early in the morning for it but why make some people wait all day for tickets? (Like mormon does)
They'll get $27(or $30 in Newsies case) weather someone buys it at 10AM or 6PM It's still the same amount of $

The reason Is because they are not rush tickets they are Standing Room ONLY!! As the name of the tix implies a performance must be sold out in order to sell them, and both shows do often have tickets available for at least $200 a tix, but they are still there and there is also some type of legal/fire code reason for that as well, but as the name of the tix implys they can only be sold when only standing room is left.

You most certainlly CAN do Lottery and SRO == but if you win lotto, you cannot also buy SRO tix. How strict are they with this? NO idea, but the day I did SRO, they came down the line to give you lotto slips. (Which makes sense, since they don't want one individual winning 2 lotto tix and then getting back in line to secore 2 sro tix.)

Well since the lotto and standing room are done one right after the other, and are only sold by 1 ticket window, you are very likly to be caught because its the same person selling both types of ticket

At Newsies SRO, there's a barricade on the right sides of the doors. I definitely put my ticket in for lotto and then went & stood at the SRO line. The lotto peeps were perfectly fine with it and when my name wasn't called for lotto, I was first in line for SRO. My friends did the same thing but they won lotto and just left the SRO line.

And with friends doing lotto for friends, I don't see why you couldn't do lotto & SRO at Newsies. You have a group of three, but you only win two lotto tickets. Why can't you get a SRO ticket for the 3rd person? The SRO is usually short enough that you could go in the back of it after the lotto.

Unless the lotto people say otherwise, I don't see a problem of you're not cutting anyone in the SRO line.
