Yes. It's another one, but I'll try to be descriptive to aid in your decision.

My father is taking me up to New York in a few weeks to see any show I want as my 15th birthday present. I'd really like to see Speech and Debate, but I'm wondering if it would be uncomfortable to see it with my father. He's pretty liberal and open minded, but he's kind of protective of me. He'll change the channel if we're watching a television program with nudity. He thinks a lot of things are innappropriate for me. (They aren't. I'm quite mature for my age. I could handle Rent and Spring Awakening when I went with my mother. I've been watching Sex and the City since I was 8.)

I know the show is about a sex scandal. Would it be a mistake to see it with my father?
How bad is it in terms of content?

So why ask it?

A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

To me I think it is extremely refreshing that anyone, especially a 15 year old, would have their pick of any show in New York and they would pick Speech and Debate.

Well I've seen Rent and Spring Awakening twice already. I taped Legally Blond on MTV so I can watch that whenever I want. I saw Wicked in Philly and Avenue Q is coming in January. Really (Besides In The Heights which won't open until early Spring) there's nothing else I want to see. Oh, and it's gotten very good reviews and if I don't see it now I won't get another chance.

So... is it too racy?

Because I'd like to know. I apologized already for the fact that this question is asked so much, but I'd really like to know if I'm going to be embarressed and have a terrible time with someone I love, but who I only see for 15 minutes a day! (He owns his own business and works 10 hours a day.)

I really admire your wanting to see Speech & Debate as well. Well, there is no issue of simulated sex on stage in the production, there are just mature subjects. I personally would've been comfortable seeing the show with MY parents at age 15. I don't know if that helps. And also, Speech & Debate is wonderful re: Not another one of these questions *groan* Good luck deciding.

Sex and the City at 8 years old? Um... if your dad didn't say anything about THAT then I can't imagine anything on stage he'd have a problem with.

If Dad is grossed out watching a couple of gay teen boys dealing with their stuff on stage, well, that might make you uncomfortable and you wouldn't have as good a time as you should. You know him better than I, you judge. I think you should see it though. So maybe just grit your teeth and go for it.

Thanks everyone!
I'm going to take my chances and see it with him.
