ALL ETHNICITIES STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

Drama'l Musicals is casting "Oz, the musical" starring American Idol's Diana Degarmo. Oz is a comedic new twist on L. Frank Baum's classic tale and will tour through Texas during the month of February, 2009. Rehearsals begin January 27th and the show ends February 28th.

Auditions will be held January 20, 2009 at Nola Studios:
250 West 54th Street

Singers at 10:00
Dancers at 4:00

Callbacks - January 21, 2009

Seeking: Talented Actors who sing with strong POP voices

Please prepare 16 bars of your best pop/musical theatre song

Breakdown:
Scarecrow - Enthusiastic friend of Dorothy who is not very bright, must move well

Tinman - Semi-famous lounge singer in Oz, searching for a heart, a bit of a divo, must move well

Lion - Big and Handsome king of the jungle, who is calm and collected on the outside but a coward on the inside, must move well

Glinda - Elle Woods type news reporter for the Oz Morning News, Helps Dorothy on her journey to find her home. Must have great comedic timing, charm, a great belting range and be "cute"

Wicked Witch "Brenda" - HE must be a great at improv, quick on his feet. (Think Tyler Perry Madea) type character. Must be able to portray an over the top African American Female.

Martha - Wicked Witch's side-kick and slave...must be over the top and able to improv as well...skating experience a plus

Milton - (Same as Martha)

Doo-Wop Girls - Three diva pop/gospel singers who move well. Must have great timing and be able to harmonize well.

Wizard - Character actor, must play six different roles in the show. Must be able to completely transform from one character to another. Must be a decent mover.

Dancers/Ensemble:
Must be strong technical dancers, high energy, and lots of personality
