There are auditions for our school musical of Once on this Island. The part that people my age are seeking out for is Little Timoune. Does anyone have any information about this role? What songs does she sing (if any)? Describe her? Who would best fit the role? etc.
Also, any advice on the audition would be great. They are going to give us a song to learn and a scene to learn.
Thank you!

this is a very small role -- she has no songs, only a small solo. depending on how they cast the show, this solo could be given to an ensemble member.
little ti moune is basically just an inquisitive little girl. she was found in a tree after a huge storm and adopted by mama euralie and tonton julian, who raise her as their daughter.

Posted: 11/28/05 at 8:19pmI played Little Ti Moune in my high school's production of "Once On This Island" when I was 15 years old. It's basically the little girl who is scared of a storm so the storytellers tell her the story, and she also acts as the young Ti Moune, which is the lead role. She has a solo here and there...she sings a little bit in "Some Say" and she also sings in the trio with Mama Euralie and Tonton Julian in "A Part of Us" at the end of the show ... and she closes the show with a very nice monologue, but that's pretty much the extent of the role.

Posted: 11/28/05 at 8:34pmthe monologue is not long, it is simply a reiteration of the beginning. if this is really important to you, you should get the obcr. you'll understand everything a lot better. the importance of any character in this show is up to the director and his/her interpretation.
