Outkast does a 1930s musical

I just saw Andre Benjamin (Andre 3000 of Outkast) on the Daily Show tonight. He said that he and Big Boi are doing a 1930s musical for HBO that will be out in the Spring (I think he said).

I was also watching and heard that. I would've like to hear more about it but Stewart took Andre's cellphone and started messing with it, I think.

Did he say it was a remake of a 1930's musical or is it a musical set in the 1930's?

This isn't the first I've heard of the project, and I think it has a ton of potential. I really can't wait to see what they come up with.

It's a new piece, with contemporary music, set in the 1930s.

Isn't this musical the reason that he gave for turning down an invitation to appear in the "Dreamgirls" movie?

He says in the new 'Time' that he passed on 'Dreamgirls' because he didn't want to do two musicals in a row.

Jeff Whitty aka tony award winning writer for Avenue Q told me that he was writing this film with Andre3000. So I think it will be amazing.
