From the fabulous Paul Rubin's journal:
Well, it is confirmed and we are going to NEW YORK CITY for the holiday season. We are looking at a November 30th opening in Madison Square Garden and playing for 5 weeks. More details when I get them.
It might not be a Broadway run, but they are making it to the big city!

He knows...he is Paul's webmaster.
I knew.
5 week limited engagement at the Garden. Then it'll continue to tour. And then that's it. It's over.
Hopefully, even though it's not a Broadway theatre, the Tony committee will consider it for a "Special." If not, then see about Revival.
I know he knew, I was just expecting him to make some sort of comment.
Well - I was under the impression it wasn't to become public yet. But Paul posted it on his Road section, so it's out.

No, a Broadway run was planned.
Im actually glad this is playing Madison Square Garden and not Broadway.
They'll make more money, and with all respect for Ms. Rigby, this production has been seen in NYC three times already.
Hopefully the next production of PETER PAN that actually plays a Broadway house will be something new.

Could someone explain to me the set up of Madison Square Garden. I thought it was an arena. How do they put on theatrical productions there?
I bet the audience flight will be amazing!
Cathy Rigby DID do a PETER PAN production on an arena stage in 1975.
i am guessing that it would be at the theater at madison garden, not the normal part of the garden. But anywho this is exciting! peter pan was my first bway show ever!
Yes, the theatre.
oh GOOD!!!
The tour was SO SO SO good!

Bway, the Theater at Madison Square is a separate stage where they usually put on A Christmas Carol (musical version). It also hosts boxing and concerts when the Garden is in use.

I assume this is "The Theater" at Madison Square Garden. Somehow I can't imagine Howard McGillin crawling under the stage floor to get from SR to SL. The backstage area leaves much to be desired.

Seriously I thought Cathy was retiring from Peter Pan. By the way I love Cathy to death!

Was not aware that there was a theatre. Thank you. I assume this is where Wizard of Oz was, also?

That was already mentioned...
