Doyle is now recycling shows where the cast always was the band?

What can we hope for next? Reruns of Smoke On The Mountain, Oil City Symphony, and Cowgirls?

I haven't seen it in years, but I don't remember the show dealing with the economy. Dolly Parton-induced wet dreams, yes, but not the economy.

I'm curious, why the hate? I always heard it was just a mediocrity?

Cheese grits
and barbecue
my sister and I'll
take good care of you

The problem with the show is that it's an expanded cabaret act that never really gelled as a show.

I loved it. I still hear the "I Need a Vacation" number in my head whenever I need a vacation.

I've honestly never heard of this show. If Company & Sweeney Todd weren't successful, why do they think this will have any kind of life on Broadway??

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

"why do they think this will have any kind of life on Broadway"

low production costs and they can market it to tourists.

They could cycle every country music star through this show for years to come.

Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift in "Pump Boys..."

Broadway welcomes Clay Aiken to "Pump Boys..."

Does Deb Monk still get residuals?

"Does Deb Monk still get residuals?"

Does that determine whether you will buy a ticket or not? You're not gonna deny Deb the 50 cents she will make off your ticket are you?

No denial, I would give Deb all my money but I bet she's made a nice little bundle off this show all these years.

The show does seem to do well with both community and professional companies across the country, so there is some appeal to audiences in it. Now whether or not they can translate that into a way to bring in the tourist crowd to sustain a long run is another question entirely.

I'm with joey on this one. The show didn't change my life, but given the options of small-cast musicals, one can certainly do worse.

This is a real fun and cute show. I don't know if it is deserving of a broadway production. But I am really glad to have seen it.

This was first show The Dodgers produced on Broadway. Doug Johnson, a brilliant graphic artist, designed the logo and he went on to design the show logos for most Dodger productions since then.
