after reading the USAtoday article regarding bway shows headed to vegas, im confused at exactly how the phantom transfer will work. How are they cutting a nearly 3 hour show down to 90 minutes? And with a 40 million dollar theatre facility, how do you think the show will change technically? Perhaps an actual boat on water? A faster chandellier? Anyone hear anything?

I read another article a few months back. I don't know about cutting it down to 90 minutes; I thought they were just going to cut it down some.
Regarding the effects, I read that, yes, the boat will actually be on water, the falling chandelier will more resemble what we've seen in the film version of The Phantom of the Opera, along with completely updated technology for the entire show. It should be an astounding spectacle. I am incredibly anxious for this show.
Agreed. Im not one for shameless spectacle on broadway, but in Vegas...well whatever happens in vegas (hopefully) stays in vegas, so i would enjoy seeing it as well.
I can't wait to see this... and also, I remember reading that they are working on a 90 min version for las vegas. they are going to have to cut out a whole lot of material to meet that goal.
