Looks like it was really fun! Did anyone here take the class?

Awesome! Stacey717 took the class, she had several entries devoted to the classes (which sounded like so much fun). She's not in any of the during-class pictures, since she was taking the SATs, but she's somewhere in the class picture.

Ugh, I really would've loved to take this class! Darn my 13-years-old-ness and my, you know, being located across the country. But John looks great in those photos, and the participants look as if they had a blast.

I was part of the class...and it was unbelievable. Everyone was so talented, and John and Leo did an amazing job teaching. It was a whole lot of fun, and the pictures capture the essence of how fantastic the experience was.

I wish I could've taken that class. I read somewhere that he's going to do small workshops around the country, but I have no idea if that's true. John is so great though. God I love that man...I don't know him, and I know he's gay, but God I love him. Elyse. No day but today.

Yes-- class was incredible. The teachers! The students! The lessons! The coffee and bagels! (...none of which I ever had, but they still great by association!)

I unfortunately *did* have to miss the first two hours of the last day of class because of SAT IIs, but I miraculously arrived in time for the class photo... so while I missed out on tons of fun with my class (simultaneously torturing myself at a test center), I have an incredible memory of entering as everyone's ready to take the photo and classmates start calling my name (a lá Cheers)-- a memory that really makes me smile... even if I look like a dunce in the "silly version" class photo that's up on the site lol

In any case, I'd say class probably ranks with CTY as the best thing I've ever done to this point... It was great...

Did you have any background in puppetry before you did the class?

The class had very varied levels of experience in puppetry and other types of performance-- some had years and years of experience (and were great puppeteers coming in), others had virtually none or no experience (I was on the no side of the spectrum)...

We can just say that the teachers did their office in getting a solid variety :)

Maybe a little bit I guess...he was definetly the best made puppet and I think the most similar to the Avenue Q puppets that we had the chance to work with. He feels really comfortable on.

Has John ever done anymore of these or was this a one-time-only thing?
