Is there a plan B for the effect where the Phantom dissapears in the throne at the end? What would happen if it didn't work? Has anybody seen it go wrong?

Someone on this board wrote that the effect didn't work, so Meg Giry grabbed the wedding veil that the Phantom forced onto Christine's head. I think that's what they said.
There has got to be a Plan B, though. That's such a definitive moment that if something were to go wrong, there'd have to be something to do instead.

That happened to me in london, Meg went to the throne and i could hear the phantom tell her "No Dont!" (i was in the front) so she just waddled over and picked up the vail, for the people that saw it with me for the first time, it was totally anticlimatic. almost as bad as when the Chandelier does not fall (that also happens)
