Those both would be great cast but which one would it be ...there are two versions to this.

Pollyanna....white cast
Polly........black cast

i think Pollyanna should be played by some unknown hopeful, and be broadway's next big superstar. It'd be nice to have an actual teenager play her.

I auditioned for a workshop of this YEARS ago, and then nothing ever came of it. Not really surprising, the song that I had to sing was horrible. "I won't be sad, no I won't be sad, 'cause if I were sad, I wouldn't be glad! Oh, I won't be sad.." Blah.

I LOVE the idea of Donna Murphy as Aunt Polly. I agree that there's probably some very talented unknowns out there who should get a shot at playing Pollyanna.

There was a version of Pollyanna as a musical called Polly in 1989 I think...I have very vague recollections of it, but I think I loved it. It start Keshia Knight Pulliam and PPhylicia Rashad from the Cosby show. They also had a sequal to it a few years later called "Polly Comin' Home." I hope it gets release on DVD! It did well in the ratings
