He's perfect for the role.
With Mahoney in PRELUDE... and David Hyde Pierce & Edward Hibbert in CURTAINS, it's a mini Frasier reunion on Broadway.
Add to that the rumors of Bebe Neuwirth as the dance teacher ands Millicent Martin as the grandmother in BILLY ELLIOT!

Still a rumor until it's officially announced.
Well, I think the Roundabout Theater Company is a pretty reliable source when it comes to their own productions.
They should cast Ned Beatty and Patty Duke. They were the best things about the film.

Wait, Rath - wasn't your beloved Debra Monk in the film?
Possibly, but it would have been before I took notice of her glory.
Do we know who are playing the leads yet?

I'm assuming this is taking one of the two vacant spots in Roundabout's season? Any idea what the other might be yet?
It's official: Mahoney, Annie Parisse, Alan Tudyk, and Robin Bartlett.

I LOVE Robin Bartlett!
Mmmmmm....shlurpy Alan Tudyk...NUMMY! So glad they didn't go with big Hollywood stars for this. Um...who's Annie Parisse?
Annie Parisse was on LAW AND ORDER for two seasons as the ADA opposite Sam Waterston. She was also just in Anne Washburn's play THE INTERNATIONALIST at the Vineyard, and did a spectacular job.

borstalboy asked a pretty good question: any idea what the final TBA in roundabout's season might be?
I know the American Airlines usually has a summer show that opens at the end of June, which didn't happen last year because of The Pajama Game, but doesn't it seem like this has a very short run? It's going to be a difficult one to catch unless they end up extending it.
