Hi, my mom, my sister and I are going to New York for the first time in our lives from May 23-25 (we are departing the 26th). We already got tickets to see Wicked and RENT, but I was wondering about the casts of certain Broadway shows and whether it is worth the money to see them (reviews would be wonderful!). How is the current cast for Chicago? I love the music from it and have seen the school edition, but I would like to see the real thing, though our budget is small (about $2000 for the whole trip). Is the current cast good enough to pay the price of admission? Also, how is the Phantom of the Opera cast? Is The Light in the Piazza worth seeing? Thanks for any help, I REEEEEEALLY appreciate it.

I believe that you just miss Charlotte D'Amboise's month-long return to Chicago.

Is The Light in the Piazza worth seeing?
Yes, but its not for everyone. And it may take you a while to get into it, if you see it (it wasn't until about five months after I saw the show that I really began to love it) But if you're concerned about different casts, see it just for Victoria Clark's amazing performence.
