WOW! GREAT NEWS about CATCH ME...

While there, Mitchell talked about all of his current slate of projects. Among them, Mitchell has just redone the opening number of LOVE NEVER DIES, featuring bearded ladies and other 'freaks' with a new song while making other trims throughout the show.

The highly-anticipated CATCH ME IF YOU CAN will have a reading next week with 'amazing' new material and the same leads that played the show from Seattle (Kerry Butler, Norbert Leo Butz, Aaron Tveit and Tom Wopat). The chorus has been expanded from 4 girls to 10 amongst other changes. The show is prepping for January rehearsals for a Broadway bow.

Mitchell also just directed a reading of BALLROOM with Tyne Daly that he is directing and developing for a hopeful 2011 production.

I couldn't care less about CATCH ME IF YOU CAN or LOVEN EVER DIES, but I adore BALLROOM and Tyne Daly is beyond perfect for the role.

I'm curious to see how Ballroom pans out. Some of the cut songs are wonderful.

I hope they've fixed Catch Me If You Can. About 3/4 of that show needs to be changed/cut/fixed. I found it to be an embarrassment when I saw it in Seattle. Butz and Tviet were great, though.

I'd cut the Butler character altogether if I were them.

am i the only one who thinks aaron tveit isn't that talented. i mean he's lead material, but i don't get the hype about him. would love to see someone diff. for the lead in catch me

Aaron has a great voice, but I'm not convinced that he can carry a show.

Tveit's reviews out of town were rapturous, of the "star is born" variety. Numerous critics, including Variety referred to it as a "star-making performance." There's not a chance he's going to be replaced.

Tveit was a revelation in Catch Me. I didn't care for his performance in Nex to Normal but he was absolutely sensational in Catch Me.

People who saw him in his underwear, in Next To Normal, would probably disagree with you.

Either that or expand it. When I first saw the movie, I was wondering what happend to the character. I thought she was going to appear later after he ran away with the suit case full of money, but nothing. I was like... "Where the hell did Ella Enchanted go?"

He's incredibly talented. Obviously Broadway is full of angelic voiced guys, but Aaron's always stood out for me. I love the video of him singing "Goodbye" from the show. I love his acting as well. He was amazingly creepy in Next To Normal, and from the videos he seemed to get a lot of laughs from Catch Me If You Can. And in my defense, I heard his voice in an audio bootleg, and adored him before I ever saw a picture of him. Or saw him in his boxers in N2N. Regardless of what he looks like, even though unfortunately that's all some people see, he's an amazing contribution to Broadway talent wise.
