Just wanted to share with you that 1 of my fav cabaret performers who wrote the music for BAKER STREET (I love the song "What Night This Is Going To be") will be at Don't Tell Mama's Wednes., Feb. 23rd. I saw his show last year & loved it & had to buy his CD.
BTW, Ray's a 2004 BACK STAGE BISTRO AWARD winner.
Here's a few quotes on Ray:
"In the royal court of cabaret--with its few kings, multiple queens and legions of ladies-in-waiting--Ray Jessel is the jester. The septuagenarian Welsh-Jewish songwriter's prankishly literate ditties, now available on his debut CD,recall the smart novelty songs of Tom Lehrer, Allan Sherman and other masters of high silliness; he plays piano and talk-sings through his tunes like a Catskills Rex Harrison. This old joker is aces." - Adam Feldman...TIME OUT New York
"Ray Jessel is living and beaming proof that you can still be potent even if you can no loger break-dance on the corner. You can even be more effective than ever. Laughs by the load from the Einstein look-alike" - Finkle... VILLAGE VOICE
Enjoy!
